Phase 5 : Controlling the system

This page is dedicated to the Philips iPronto which is fully programmable and would control everything in the system if only it could cope with the projector.

This is my remote control 'home page'.

The logo of the original Picture House cinema is shown at the bottom of the page.

On the right are the controls for the Lutron lighting and the Owl screen enabling me to lower the screen and set the lighting immediately.

Pressing the 'DVD' button on the home pages gets you to the DVD menu. I scanned in the Arcam DV89 remote, did some considerable manipulation of the image and created a smaller remote with enough room for the essential buttons.

Pressing the 'Projector' button brings up the controls for the Barco 1209. Everything is programmed in but the iPronto is completely incapable of controling the projector. Apparently the codes are too fast or something. Whatever the cause, it's a major problem. I have to use the original Barco remote.

The last screen is for the Denon amp. Again I simply placed the remote on the scanner and hit the scan button. A bit of tweaking and the the image looks great. Just the essential controls are needed.

I took a lot of time programming the remote and I'm hoping that Philips will create an upgrade which will make the iPronto work with Barco projectors.
